II All-Russian Cello Academy. Opening Concert

On March 29, the opening concert of the II All-Russian Cello Academy took place in the Blue Hall of Moscow musical theater “Helikon-Opera”.

Famous performers performed at the concert, including teachers of the academy and invited musicians: Andrey Spiridonov, Maria Zaitseva, Mikhail Vasiliev, Evgeny Rumyantsev, Alexey Vasiliev, Georgy Gusev, Vasily Stepanov, as well as three cello ensembles “Rauan” (Astana, Kazakhstan), a group from Kazan and an ensemble of students of Vasily Stepanov.

The program featured works by Robert Schumann, Sergei Rachmaninov, Aram Khachaturian and other composers.

The II All-Russian Cello Academy is an educational event for students and graduates of music schools, colleges, universities in the cello class, and professional performers on this instrument. The Academy includes ten open master classes by famous cellists, performances by speakers (lecturers) on topics relevant to musicians, and concerts of cello music.
