Closing of the Rimsky-Korsakov – 180 Wind Music Festival

From September 20 to October 20, 2024, Moscow hosted the First Open Moscow Wind Music Festival dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The closing ceremony of the festival was held at the Central House of the Russian Army named after M.V. Frunze. The Central Concert Exemplary Navy Orchestra of the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov performed under the baton of the orchestra's chief conductor Valentin Lyashchenko. The final concert of the festival was the final chord of the celebration of the 180th anniversary of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov in Russia.

The rich creative heritage of the master of orchestral color N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, the outstanding achievements of the Russian performing school on wind instruments, as well as various types of wind instruments, without the sound of which it is impossible to imagine the composition of a modern symphony orchestra, were presented at a series of thematic concerts by the leading creative collectives of the country, soloists and teachers: concertmaster of the trombone group of the Bolshoi Orchestra Professor Erkin Yusupov, Head of the Department of Brass Instruments at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State University; laureate of the XVII P.I. Competition. Tchaikovsky's Fyodor Osver (oboe); winner of the Golden Nutcracker 2023 Elizabeth Gamaris (clarinet) and others. .

The organizer of the festival is the Center for Cultural Initiatives of Nikolai Popov, soloist of the orchestra and wind quintet of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Association "Valery Khalilov Spiritual Society".
