His Majesty Bayan
All facets of this beloved folk instrument were showcased at the concert "His Majesty the Bayan" performed by the Russian Folk Instruments Orchestra of the Academic Choir of Russian Song of the Orpheus Television and Radio Broadcasting Center, under the direction of Nikolai Azarov.
The program featured music from a wide range of styles and eras – from Bach's Grand Organ Prelude and Fugue in A minor and Sibelius's "Sad Waltz" to Vyacheslav Semyonov's "Kalina Krasnaya" and Viktor Gridin's "Rassypukha."
