A wonderful romance tomorrow. The young voices of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theaters.

Russian opera singers have always been very happy to include romances in their repertoire. Let's recall Chaliapin, Sobinov, Lemeshev, Obukhov, Kozlovsky: vocal miniatures in their performance are always a masterpiece of performing art, an impeccable embodiment of the richest palette of feelings and moods.

Fortunately, this tradition lives and develops. The repertoire of young singers from Russia's leading theaters also includes impressive lists of romances.

The concert will feature popular romances performed by soloists of the Bolshoi Theater: Yulia Mazurova, Alexander Chernov and Vasily Sokolov of the Mariinsky Theater: Stepan Zavalishin, Daria Ryabokon, Roman Shirokikh and Ekaterina Fenina. Ekaterina Vasheruk, Yana Granqvist, Tikhon Selivanov and the artistic director of the Festival, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor of the St. Petersburg Rimsky–Korsakov State Conservatory Irina Sharapova are at the piano this evening.

The concert was hosted by musicologist Gulnara Maslyaeva.
