Creation of Music

Description

The concert "Creation of Music," dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the beloved composer Andrei Petrov, will be part of the "Days of Music of Andrei Petrov in the Saratov Region" festival. The concert will feature the composer's symphonic works and the suite "Street Melodies in Tuxedos," with the author's transcriptions of famous melodies from the films "Amphibian Man," "Beware of the Car," "St. Petersburg Secrets," "An Old, Old Tale," and others.

Andrei Petrov's ballet "Creation of the World" can safely be called one of the most famous ballets of the 20th century. Over its half-century history, it has become legendary and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as a ballet by a contemporary composer, staged in more than 60 theaters worldwide. The concert will feature the third suite from the ballet. In his mature years, Andrei Petrov, drawn more to symphonic music, turned to large-scale concert forms. This is how his Piano Concerto came to be, a dialogue between equals – pianist and symphony orchestra.
