B. Tchaikovsky. A Musical Fairytale

Description

The Orpheus media platform presents Boris Tchaikovsky's "Musical Fairy Tale" concert extravaganza, based on the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. The concert is timed to coincide with the composer's 100th birthday.

For most connoisseurs and experts of the music of Boris Tchaikovsky, the greatest symphonist of the 20th century, his artistic legacy is primarily associated with his large-scale orchestral and chamber ensemble works. However, in addition to these works, grandiose in scale and concept, the composer also wrote delightful music for numerous radio fairy tales. These fairy tales were made possible by Boris Tchaikovsky's creative collaboration with Sergei Mikhailovich Bogomazov, who wrote the scripts and lyrics for the radio productions.

The most perfect example of this collaboration was Andersen's Fairy Tales. "The Swineherd," "Galoshes of Happiness," and "The Emperor's New Dress" were performed on Russian radio for many years, captivating children's audiences not only with their artistic portrayals of beloved characters but also with their unique musical and poetic reflections of life: thanks to Boris Tchaikovsky, waltzes, hymns, marches, and tongue-twisters were received with surprising warmth, with tender mischief and a kind smile.

Listening to these tales again today is a great pleasure. At the concert, they were performed by the beloved theater and film actor Vladimir Konkin, Honored Artist of Russia, accompanied by the Camerata Komitas chamber orchestra under the direction of Arif Dadashev. Tatyana Petrovskaya's sand animation beautifully illustrated the concert.

The event was part of the project: "Boris Tchaikovsky." A concert series dedicated to the composer's 100th anniversary, organized by the "Domestic Art" charitable foundation with the support of the PFC.

Concert director: Maria Andreeva.
