Cayetano Soto. Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky

Renowned Spanish choreographer Cayetano Soto presents the biographical ballet "Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky", set to the composer's music. In this work, Soto explores Tchaikovsky’s personality and the hidden aspects of his life through movement and his personal correspondence. Letters and documents from the Tchaikovsky State House-Museum in Klin were only made public in 2009; drawing on this material, Soto and his collaborator Dario Suši aim to reveal the composer's dramatic inner world.

The dancers explore his passion, sorrow, and profound disappointments, portraying a man torn between the social conventions of 19th-century Russian society and his own personal desires.

The production "Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky" offers a fresh, contemporary perspective on the life of this genius of Russian music.
