"Poems of Repentance"

The Orpheus media platform presents the concert "Penitential Poems" by Alfred Schnittke performed by the INTRADA ensemble at St. Andrew's Anglican Cathedral.

The concert is a masterpiece of Russian sacred music of the XX century and one of the most difficult choral works. The concert was organized by the Union of Composers of Russia and timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding composer of the XX century.

Alfred Schnittke wrote: "In the temple, I find myself in an environment where I am, as it were, invisibly in a terribly dense crowd: everyone who has been in this temple for hundreds of years has invisibly remained there. And I feel it. On the one hand, this eliminates the possibility of lying to yourself or others. Or pretend to. On the other hand, it exacerbates the longing that always lives in a person."

The concert is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia.
