Children's Album. Modest Mussorgsky. "The Beetle"

The scene "The Beetle" was included in the vocal cycle of M.P. Mussorgsky - "Children's", in which the composer dedicates each number to the children of his close friends and masters whose opinions he valued. Thus, the scene "The Beetle" was dedicated to the music critic, art historian Vladimir Vasilyevich Stasov. The main characters of the cycle are children and the adults around them (mother, nanny). With the help of melodized recitative, sensitively conveying the intonations of speech and the emotional state of the characters in the cycle, Mussorgsky creates a kind of "vocal theater".
