All-Russian competition of young composers "Score". Gala concert

The III All-Russian Competition of Young Composers "Score" was held from February to November 2024. This year was a record for the "Score" competition in terms of the number of applications - 1094, and 40 works were selected for the final. The jury included many famous musicians and cultural figures: Chairman of the Council of the Union of Composers of Russia Alexander Tchaikovsky, Rector of the Moscow Conservatory Alexander Sokolov, conductor Yuri Bashmet, founder and artistic director of the Helikon Opera Dmitry Bertman, composer Zuo Zhenguan (China) and others.

The winners of the III All-Russian Competition of Young Composers "Score" were announced at a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.

They are:

in the nomination "Large-scale symphonic work" - Artem Romodanov (Moscow). A piece for a large symphony orchestra "In Red";

in the nomination "Small Symphonic Work" - Sofia Kruglova (Moscow). Symphonic poem "Farewell";

in the nomination "Opera" - Ilyas Kamalov (Kazan). Opera "Eagles of the Urals";

in the nomination "Ballet Music" - Artem Garkavtsev (Rostov-on-Don). "Christmas Overture";

in the nomination "Film Music" - Olesya Berdnikova (Gatchina, Leningrad Region). Suite from the film "Katyusha";

in the nomination "Variety and symphonic work, operetta, musical" - Alexey Popkov (Tolyatti). Orchestral piece "Zhiguli";

in the nomination "Work for one or more instruments/voices with orchestra" - Konstantin Borisov (Moscow). "Concerto for trumpet and orchestra";

in the nomination "Choral music" - Alexey Chernakov (Moscow). Cantata "Strong in spirit people" in memory of Siberian soldiers.

The works of the competition finalists were performed at a gala concert by the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra (artistic director Ivan Nikiforchin).
