Closing of the Festival. Public concert "Tishchenko. Lubchenko"
The final concert of the S.K. Gorkovenko Festival was held for the first time in the Memorial Hall of the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad. The public daytime closing concert was dedicated to several important dates: symbolically ending the year of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the siege, it precedes the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the anniversary of the Governor's Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg, which was founded on May 10, 1945. The concert featured Boris Tishchenko's "Chronicle of the Blockade" symphony. In his symphony, the composer continued the theme of war, which was brilliantly embodied in the Seventh Symphony ("Leningrad") by his great teacher Dmitry Shostakovich. It is symbolic that the same concert featured music by Anton Lubchenko, who in turn was a student of Boris Tishchenko. The poignant soundtrack was written by the composer for the film "Three Days to Spring" (directed by Alexander Kasatkin, 2017), which tells about life in the besieged city.
