Pure Classics. “On the wings of a song”. Schubert, Mendelssohn.
On December 26, 2022, the Niko Museum-Gallery hosted a concert dedicated to the music of early German romanticism “On the wings of a song”. This evening featured masterpieces of chamber instrumental and vocal music by German romantic composers: Schubert and Mendelssohn.
This was the third concert of the "Pure Classics" project.
“German romanticism in music and poetry is one of the brightest pinnacles of world culture, and one of the most interesting phenomena of the musical culture of the nineteenth century,” says pianist Viktor Yampolsky. Great German poetry, combined with amazing music of romantic composers, creates incredible images and resonates with the listeners' deepest emotions.
The peculiarity of the concert program is that the compositions that are performed are absolute masterpieces, but at the same time they are not often heard on the Moscow stage.”
