Master class by Alexey Vasiliev
From March 27 to March 30, 2025, the Moscow musical theater "Helikon-Opera" will host the III All-Russian Cello Academy - an educational event for professional performers, students and graduates of musical educational institutions in the cello class. This year it is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V. Berlinsky.
The Academy will include 13 open master classes of famous cellists, reports by professionals on topics relevant to musicians and a final concert with the participation of all teachers and students who took part in the master classes of the Academy.
On March 28, a master class was held by Alexey Vasiliev - Russian cellist, conductor, teacher and music and public figure, Honored Artist of Russia, artistic director of the symphony orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, rector of the St. Petersburg Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
Alexey Nikolaevich actively gives concerts as a soloist and participant of various instrumental ensembles. As a soloist, he performed with the Honored Collective of Russia - the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of the Academic Capella of St. Petersburg, the Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra. He collaborated with famous conductors, including: Leo Korkhin, Ravil Martynov, Algirdas Paulavičius, Vladimir Begletsov, Svyatoslav Luther, Alexander Chernushenko, Vladimir Alempyev, Roman Leontiev.
He regularly conducts cello master classes in Russia and abroad, and is a jury member of numerous music competitions.
