Master Class by Evgeny Rumyantsev

Description

From March 29 to March 31, 2024, the II All-Russian Cello Academy was held at Moscow musical theater “Helikon-Opera” - an educational event for professional performers, students and graduates of music educational institutions in the cello class.

Within the framework of the Academy, 10 open master classes by famous cellists, presentations by professionals on topics relevant to musicians, and a final concert were held with the participation of all teachers and students who took part in the Academy’s master classes.

On March 29 at 10:00 a master class was held in the White Hall by Evgeny Rumyantsev, a cellist and teacher at the Moscow State Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky, artist of the MusicAeterna orchestra, laureate of the International Competition. P.I. Tchaikovsky, Member of the Association of Laureates of the International Competition named after. P.I. Tchaikovsky and the International Union of Musical Workers.

Evgeniy Valerievich graduated with honors from the Moscow Conservatory (2007) and graduate school at the Moscow State Conservatory (2010, class of Professor N.N. Shakhovskaya). He took master classes from Mstislav Rostropovich, David Geringas, Eberhard Finke, Sergei Roldugin.

He was a scholarship recipient of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation (scholarship named after N. Myaskovsky), the Russian Performing Arts Foundation and the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. Laureate of the XIII International Competition named after. P.I. Tchaikovsky (2007), winner of the International Cello Competition. A.I. Khachaturyan (Yerevan, 2010).

Since 2010, he has been teaching at the Moscow Conservatory, giving master classes and being a member of the jury of various international competitions. He conducts active concert activities in Russia and abroad. His repertoire includes almost all music written for cello. He also plays the baroque cello, viola da gamba and electric guitar.
