The concert of the Capella Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Anatoly Kalvarsky, one of the best jazz musicians and composers of our country. People's Artist of Russia David Goloshchekin took part in the concert together with Anatoly Kalvarsky.

Anatoly Vladimirovich Kalvarsky is a composer, pianist, orchestra leader, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. In 1956, he graduated from the theoretical and compositional department of the Music College at the Leningrad Conservatory. In 1956-60 he became known as the pianist of the Orestes Kandat ensemble. In 1960-62 and 1968-73 he was the musical director of the State Variety Orchestra of Azerbaijan. In 1966, Anatoly Kalvarsky led the Metronome Orchestra in Leningrad, which received recognition at the II City Festival (a special diploma for the best original composition). In 1975-77 . He was the artistic director and conductor of the Leningrad Radio and Television Variety Symphony Orchestra. Subsequently, he devoted himself entirely to composition. The range of his work covers almost the entire genre scale of musical art.

Anatoly Kalvarsky is a composer and performer, the creator of dozens of vocal cycles and songs, a brilliant improviser, instrumentalist and arranger, the author of stage music and film music. His songs were performed by many outstanding performers: Andrei Mironov, Mikhail Boyarsky, Nikolai Karachentsov, Joseph Kobzon, Edita Piekhi, Larisa Dolina, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Sergei Zakharov, and others. Throughout the post-Soviet space, jazz orchestras perform vocal and instrumental works by Anatoly Kalvarsky.
