Kirill Kravtsov Master Class. Cello Ensembles
From March 29 to March 31, 2024, the II All-Russian Cello Academy was held at the Moscow musical theater “Helikon-Opera” - an educational event for professional performers, students and graduates of music educational institutions in the cello class.
Within the framework of the Academy, 10 open master classes by famous cellists, presentations by professionals on topics relevant to musicians, and a final concert were held with the participation of all teachers and students who took part in the Academy’s master classes.
On March 30 at 10:00 in the Blue Hall a master class by Kirill Kravtsov will take place, famous Russian cellist and conductor, founder and director of the Rastrelli Cello Quartet, teacher, advisor to the rector’s office of the St. Petersburg N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory.
Kirill Nikolaevich is the son of the famous accordionist Nikolai Kravtsov. He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with A.P. Nikitina. He completed his postgraduate studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with A.P. Nikitin and at the Stuttgart Higher School of Music with Peter Buk.
He taught cello at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and St. Petersburg State University of Culture. He was the concertmaster of the cello group of the ensemble “Soloists of St. Petersburg” (1990–1994) and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra (1998–2005). In 2002 he created the Rastrelli Cello Quartet, the first professional cellist quartet, which he still directs to this day.
