The first shots of the film show us The Carnival of Venice in the 17th century. Antonio's father was Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, a barber by profession and also a violinist who used to play at the San Marco basilica orchestra. Antonio was the only one among his brothers and sisters who managed to become a musician, despite the fact that his parents chose a career of a priest for the sickly boy. Nevertheless, music became the most important thing in his life and Antonio wrote music even on the margins of the Book.
