Andrey Spiridonov Master class
From March 29 to March 31, 2024, the Moscow musical theater “Helikon-Opera” will host the II All-Russian Cello Academy - an educational event for professional performers, students and graduates of music educational institutions in the cello class.
The Academy will host 10 open master classes by famous cellists, presentations by professionals on topics relevant to musicians, and a final concert with the participation of all teachers and students who took part in the Academy’s master classes.
On March 30, a master class was held by Andrey Spiridonov, a cellist (baroque/modern cello), professor at the Moscow State Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky (Faculty of Historical and Contemporary Performance), creator and director of the Baroque Soloists ensemble.
From 2000 to the present, he has been working in the state ensemble of soloists “Orfarion”, created by O.V. Khudyakov – associate professor of the conservatory, dean of the FISII.
Andrei Alekseevich took an active part in the creation of the FISII, and is the first teacher at the conservatory who began teaching students how to play the baroque cello.
Currently, Andrey Spiridonov is an associate professor at the conservatory and head of the department of strings, wind and percussion instruments at the FISII. Over the years of teaching, he has trained more than a dozen laureates of international competitions, including the competition named after. P.I. Tchaikovsky.
