Concert dedicated to the memory of P. I. Tchaikovsky

Description

Concert in memory of P.I. Tchaikovsky within the framework of the Large International Festival "Tchaikovsky. Reboot."

The soloists of the Pure Classics ensemble under the direction of the artistic director, President of the Bridge of Arts Foundation, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, pianist, member of the world-famous Rachmaninov Trio, organizer of international festivals and educational projects in the field of classical music Viktor Yampolsky performed chamber works by Russian composers M.I. Glinka, A.P. Borodin, A.G. Rubinstein and, of course, P.I. Tchaikovsky.

Among the vocal works are works by A.G. Rubinstein, P.I. Tchaikovsky, among the instrumental ones are three wonderful trios.

The trio in G minor on the theme of the Russian folk song "What have I upset you with" by A.P. Borodin is one of the few youthful compositions by the composer that were performed in the XIX century. One-part, lyrical, based on a simple and slightly sentimental melody of the song, the trio grew out of the tradition of home music making. But individual features of the composer's future style are already felt in him – the author of the "Heroic Symphony" and "Prince Igor".

The pinnacle of M.I. Glinka's chamber work was his "Pathetic Trio" in D minor for piano, clarinet and bassoon, written in Italy. The trio premiered in Milan. The first performers were bassoonist Antonio Cantu and clarinetist Pietro Tassistro, orchestra members from the La Scala Theater, as well as the composer himself, who performed the piano part. The work was a great success, which invariably accompanies its performance today.

The concert ended with a performance of the pathetic trio "In Memory of the Great Artist" for violin, cello and piano by P.I. Tchaikovsky. This work is a monument to the friendship of two great musicians: P.I. Tchaikovsky and the pianist, teacher, founder of the Moscow Conservatory N.G. Rubinstein. Tchaikovsky's work is dedicated to the memory of his untimely friend and mentor, an excellent interpreter of his works.
