Interview with Anna Sokolova

Guest: Anna Nikolaevna Sokolova, jury member of the III Interregional Open V. Ya. Shpet Competition of Performers on String and Bowed Instruments, associate professor at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and teacher at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The III Interregional Open V. Ya. Shpet Competition of Performers on String and Bowed Instruments will be held in Omsk from February 7 to 15, 2026, as part of the "Omsk – Cultural Capital of Russia – 2026" program.

Vilgelm Yakovlevich Shpet is a Siberian educator who has trained several generations of professional musicians working throughout Russia and beyond. The competition is organized to enhance the performance skills of students in continuing pre-vocational and vocational education institutions and to identify and support talented and gifted young musicians. The competition is open to performers on stringed instruments—violin, viola, and cello—aged 7 to 23. Applications are accepted on the competition's official website:
