The 2nd Interregional Open Competition for Performers on String Instruments named after V. Ya. Shpet will be held in Omsk from February 7 to 15, 2026, as part of the "Omsk – Cultural Capital of Russia – 2026" program.

In anticipation of this event, the Orpheus Media Platform presents interviews with the Competition jury members and past laureates.

Our guest in the studio is Anna Nikolaevna Sokolova, a member of the Competition jury, associate professor at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and teacher at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Vilgelm Yakovlevich Shpet is a Siberian educator who has trained several generations of professional musicians working throughout Russia and abroad.

The competition is organized to enhance the performance skills of students in continuing pre-vocational and vocational education institutions and to identify and support talented and gifted young musicians.
