A. Spiridonov's Laboratory of Ancient Music and the Faculty of Historical and Contemporary Performance of the Moscow Conservatory

From March 26 to 29, 2026, the Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon Opera" will host the IV All-Russian Cello Academy – an educational event for professional cello performers, students, and graduates of music schools.

The academy will feature open masterclasses by renowned cellists, lectures by professionals on topics relevant to musicians, and a final concert featuring all the teachers and students who participated in the academy's masterclasses.

On March 26, an early music laboratory was held under the direction of Andrei Spiridonov, cellist, professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, and founder of the "Baroque Soloists" ensemble. Also participating in the laboratory were:

Gennady Akinfin, violinist, lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory (Faculty of Historical and Contemporary Performance);

Olga Matieva, keyboardist, assistant to Professor O. Martynova of the Moscow State Conservatory (Faculty of Historical and Contemporary Performance).
