The teacher of Nicholas II was Fyodor Stepanov, the first Russian professor of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, whose competition will be held in the spring of 2025 in the city on the Neva.
The audience also got acquainted with other types of flutes at the concert - bass, alto and piccolo. The audience was also presented with a wooden flute from the early 20th century, which was played by the grandfather of the organizer of the 1st Open Moscow Festival of Wind Music named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Nikolai Popov - Lev Ostrovsky, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theater of St. Petersburg.
The concert will feature the famous Russian flute quartet "Sirinx" under the direction of the vice-rector of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Svyatoslav Golubenko and the youth flute orchestra under the direction of the honored artist, professor Vladimir Kudri.
