Brilliant Opposites: R. Schumann and F. Liszt
Roman Zaslavsky (piano) presents works by two brilliant opposites - Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt.
Schumann was closely connected with the old school, Liszt was more bold in his experiments. Schumann claimed that the best music is self-sufficient and should be understandable without explanations. Liszt's music was distinguished by its "eventfulness", the integrity of the development of musical material, brightness, contrast, and unusual individuality of musical images.
One thing is certain - these are two geniuses who gave the world great works.
