Shades of Time

Description

The Nikolai Nekrasov Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments of Radio Orpheus (opens in a new window) performed at the Moscow House of Composers. The program, entitled "Shades of Times," introduced listeners to the works of the author of the second half of the 20th century, Georgy Shenderev, and the innovative works of our contemporary, Evdokia Sandler.

Georgy Shenderev is a virtuoso accordionist. His work is imbued with love for folk art, which he rethought within the framework of the academic tradition.

Evdokia Sandler is a pianist, harpsichordist, flutist, finalist and winner of the special prize of the "Score-2024" competition. Her music is a daring experiment, where folk motifs meet the latest trends.

The works were performed by the Nekrasov Orchestra. The orchestra's artistic director, Evgeny Volchkov, and conductor Andrei Stepanenko took turns at the conductor's stand.

The Nekrasov Orchestra gives concerts at central venues in Moscow, participates in festivals, charity events, and tours around Russia. The repertoire includes folklore and classical music, melodies of the peoples of the world, and modern compositions.
