G. Mahler. Songs and symphony
The Cleveland Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Franz Welser-Möst and Simon Keenlyside presented works by Gustav Mahler on the stage of the Vienna Konzerthaus.
The concert was opened by one of the world's best baritones, Simon Keenlyside, with Mahler's songs. He performed the composer's bright early songs arranged for baritone and orchestra by Luciano Berio and excerpts from the vocal-symphonic cycle "The Boy's Magic Horn".
In the second part of the concert, the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra performed Gustav Mahler's Seventh Symphony, one of the composer's most grandiose works.
