Double Reed

Description

We present to your attention the second concert of the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Wind Music Festival called "Double Reed".

The main participants of the program were the bassoon and oboe.

Instruments, the sound of which depends not only on the talent of the performer, but also largely on the behavior of one small detail of these wind instruments - the reed, carved from two thin petals of dried reed.

Any music lover can say with absolute certainty: the instrument that makes the orchestra fall silent when it comes on stage, and to which everyone immediately listens - is the oboe. And it is its "A" that makes everyone in the hall fall silent and prepare for the magic on stage.

The evening's program includes music from different eras. All the pieces chosen by the concert participants were originally written for double-reed wind instruments.

That evening, the audience saw the unity of the musicians of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra of Russia and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E.F. Svetlanova, teachers of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and their students.

Among the performers: oboists Alexey Konoplyannikov, Dmitry Zakharchenko, Ulyana Alexandrova, bassoonists Andrey Rudometkin, Vladislav Odintsov, Alexey Sorokin (English horn) and Roman Mayorov (contrabassoon). Boris Lifanovsky (cello) and Roman Martynov (harpsichord, piano) will take part in the concert.

The 1st Open Moscow Festival of Wind Music named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov was held with the support of the Association of Wind and Percussion Instruments "Valery Khalilov Wind Society" and the Russian State Medical Center "Orpheus". The organizer of the festival is ANO "Nikolai Popov Center for Cultural Initiatives"
