Mstislav Rostropovich called Alexander Buzlov "cellist number one in the 21st century". A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Professor Natalia Gutman, Alexander Buzlov was one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation. His sudden death was a huge loss.
CelloQwest is not only a tribute to the memory of an outstanding master, but also an opportunity to discover new names in the field of cello art.
Participants will have competitive auditions, educational programs, master classes, discussions about the future of the Russian cello school and concerts.
On May 28, as part of the CelloQwest competition and festival in memory of Alexander Buzlov, a meeting with Gabriel Gibran Yacoub, a violin maker, was held.
Gabriel Gibran Yacoub is a cellist, master of bowed instruments, expert, curator of international cultural projects.
The project is implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
