Discussion "The Future of the Cello School"

Description

From March 26 to 29, 2026, the Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon-Opera" will host the IV All-Russian Cello Academy—an educational event for professional cello performers, students, and graduates of music schools.

The academy will feature open masterclasses by renowned cellists, presentations by professionals on topics relevant to musicians, and a final concert featuring all the teachers and students who participated in the academy's masterclasses.

On March 29, a discussion on "The Future of the Cello School" was held. Participants included Oleg Bugaev, cellist, teacher at the Gnessin Moscow Specialized Music School, associate professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, and head of the cello and double bass department at the Gnessin Academy Institute. Maimonides, Ivan Skanavi, cellist, Grand Prix winner of the E. Feuerman International Cello Competition, Larsen Strings artist, and Maria Zaitseva, cellist, winner of the ARD International Music Competition, laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
