The voice of the flute. Prokofiev, Handel, Mozart

On August 3, 2023, the third concert of the Pure Classics project took place at the Russian National Museum of Music.

The cycle of concerts of the Pure Classics project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, using a grant provided by the Russian Cultural Foundation within the framework of the Federal Project "Creative People" of the National Project "Culture" together with the Orpheus TV and Radio Center and the Russian National Museum of Music.

In the program of the concert "The voice of the flute. Prokofiev, Handel, Mozart" musical masterpieces of the works of Georg Friedrich Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Luciano Berio, Sergei Prokofiev and Joachim Andersen - virtuoso flutist, who was the first soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic, also worked in St. Petersburg in the Chapel and was a member of the Strauss Orchestra in the "Pavlovian Seasons".

The idea of the concert is to reveal all the possibilities of the flute, to show a rich palette of timbres, limitless technical capabilities of the instrument in which composers express their ideas.

The concert program includes an outstanding flutist, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra of Russia, laureate of international competitions, Nikolai Popov. Nikolai owns all facets of flute mastery. He is also the author of compositions for the Wind Quintet of the Bolshoi Theater, takes part in a variety of musical projects as an arranger, saxophonist and teacher. Partner of Nikolai Popov in the concert "The Voice of the flute. Prokofiev, Handel, Mozart" was performed by the famous pianist, author of the project "Pure Classics", Viktor Yampolsky.
