Verbier 2024: Simon Rattle and Beethoven

The Verbier Festival is a major event in the world of classical music, held annually during the summer. Its primary mission is to foster an exchange of experience between great masters and young artists from across the globe.

Maestro Simon Rattle leads one of the world’s finest chamber orchestras: the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. Its ranks include the renowned Finnish cellist Klaus Mäkelä, Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos, Israeli pianist Lahav Shani, and many other distinguished musicians from around the world.

At the 2024 Verbier Festival, they performed one of the seminal works in the history of classical music—Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, the "Eroica."
